TSMC Begins TD-SCDMA Chip Production for Commit

Commit, a Chinese TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) IC design house, announced on October 12 that Taiwan-based TSMC has begun production for the company's TD-SCDMA baseband chips. The company stated the chips will undergo trial runs in November, and mobile phones embedded with these chips are expected to hit the market in late 2007 or early 2008.
